What We’re Talking About

Google going Greener?

Google has always been committed to being green, long before green was a trendy buzzword and bandwagon to jump on, and even longer before we are where we are now, where it’s a must (both morally and legally) to be environmentally friendly.

But rumour has it that Google is building a huge center in Council Bluffs, Iowa and is getting ready to announce a huge new venture there. The city council and town have purchased large area of land and it is claimed that this will be used for a new Google complex.

Some say that it will be a call center and others say a data center. The location certainly would be ideal for both, being that one of the largest paths of the US network backbone runs through Council Bluffs (down fibre on Interstate 80). That and there are a lot of wind turbines in the area.

Are Google once again leading the way?
