Bio

Andy is a recovering academic and has been free of universities now for almost 12 years. These seem to have passed remarkably quickly, all things considered.  During that time, he’s filled his time with activities ranging from software development to pre-sales, via professional services, product management and a variety of “architect” roles at Micromuse, Lexicle, UBS Investment Bank and most recently Tideway.

During a sojourn at Tideway that began in 2005, Andy has spent much of his time with customers and prospects, identifying opportunities to make a difference to the IT operations of financial services organisations, communications organisations, pharmaceutical companies and anyone else who will listen. 

When not fully engaged in enabling the radical transformation of IT across the enterprise, Andy sails a Dehler 36 as far as time allows, is entertained by whichever orchestras are visiting the Barbican, rarely poisons people with his cooking and reads far too many books.

Andy has BSc and PhD degrees in Computer Science from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and is a Chartered Engineer, Chartered Information Technology Practitioner and has reasonably good spelling.
