I shall be posting a few ideas of ways the core Foundation product can be extended with the flexible TPL.

I’ve added another pattern idea that uses the first section of a MAC address to assign a vendor to a NetworkInterface node using the IANA maintained OUI list.

We developed it internally out of interest and I thought I’d share it with you. It’s a good example of augmenting a node with additional data.

I just added another example: to show how you can use patterns to interrogate Bonded network interfaces on Linux and extend the taxonomy.

We’ve added a few more interesting ideas to the Pattern Ideas repository on Configipedia.

Windows Physical NIC Adaptors - we need to count the number of physical NICs on Windows hosts. It’s a good example of WMI, Tables and setting additional inferences to really exploit the provenance features.

Oracle Apps - Andy has posted a really nice template for how to create simple applications that run on an Oracle Database. It’s a good demonstration of how to use some of our communication data.
