We’d like you to try Tideway Foundation in your own environment. We’d especially like you to experiment with its extensibility and flexibility to solve problems that are unique to you. To this end, we’ve made a beta version of our new ‘community edition’ of Tideway Foundation available for download.

What can I scan?

The community edition may be used to ‘deep’ scan up to 30 hosts. We define a host as one operating system instance (OSI), or one installation of an operating system. You can also ‘shallow’ scan as many hosts as you want to. A ‘shallow’ scan is a network-only scan, requiring no credentials, that reports the existence of a network node and makes some guesses about what sort of node it is. A ‘deep’ scan requires credentials, and logs in to each node to scan it fully. We’ll be releasing pricing details for scanning more than 30 hosts in your production environment when we exit beta in a few weeks.

To help get you started, we’ve made some “Getting Started” documentation freely available from this page. You’ll also find full product documentation included with the download. Share your stories, tips and tricks on the forum.

There is a forum in the ‘community’ section of this site to allow us (and other downloaders) to help you with any issues you have. Unfortunately we don’t offer telephone support for the community edition – but we’ll be as responsive as we can be in the forums.

Download Tideway Foundation – Community Edition

Tideway Foundation uses a port scanner to scan your network and determine which services the hosts on it are running. Some organizations treat the use of port scanners as an attempted attack. You should check with your security organization what their policy is regarding port scanners before you scan your network using Tideway Foundation.
