“I decided to download your appliance
to test it in our small environment.
It rocks. We like it a lot.”

1. Download It
Choose the version that suits you. If you're looking for something stable - go for 7.2.1. If you're looking for the bleeding edge, then try the pre-release version - but remember it may have rough edges. You're downloading a VMware virtual appliance - so you'll need to have these things in place.

- Find out what's new in this prerelease
- Read the full Prerelease Draft Documentation
- Caution! This is a prerelease version. This means that whilst it's generally in good working order, there will still be some rough edges here and there. If you find any, please get in touch and let us know!
2. Get it Up and Running
- Don't forget you need to have some prerequisites in place.
- The Getting Started Guide distills everything you need to know to install.
- Once you get Foundation installed, read the Next Steps Guide for Foundation.
- You can 'deep' scan up to 30 physical or virtual hosts. You can also 'shallow' scan
as many hosts as you want to. Need more? Visit our how to buy page.
3. Join the Community
We've got a thriving community of Foundation users over here. Why not come and sign up and share your stories, tips and tricks. Unfortunately we don't offer telephone support for the community edition - but we (and other community members) will help you with any issues you have in the forums.
Tideway Foundation uses a port scanner to scan your network and determine which services the hosts on it are running. Some organizations treat the use of port scanners as an attempted attack. You should check with your security organization what their policy is regarding port scanners before you scan your network using Tideway Foundation.
